This one reminded me of yellow jackets buzzing around the porch in July — bold, a little dangerous, and impossible to ignore. This spiral rope necklace is hand-beaded with black, bright yellow, and silver-grey seed beads twisted into a tight, coiled pattern that catches light from every angle. The color rotation creates this hypnotic stripe effect that looks way more complicated than I'm going to admit it was. It sits at choker length — approximately 16 inches — with a silver-tone lobster clasp and a 2-inch extender chain so you can adjust the fit. The rope is about 5mm wide, substantial enough to notice but not heavy. Every single bead placed by hand by a Pit River Tribe artist who grew up under Mt. Shasta and apparently has strong feelings about the color yellow. One piece. One of a kind. I won't make this combination again, so if the wasps spoke to you — move quick.
