Feather Earrings — Winter Sky Over Shasta

You know that blue the sky turns right before the cold really sets in? When the whole mountain goes quiet and everything gets sharp and clear? That's these earrings. Each one centers on an iridescent AB feather cabochon that throws light like ice in the sun, anchored by a deep teal blue stone at the top. I built out from there — rows of sparkling rhinestone cup chain, light lavender seed beads, teal and sky blue Delicas, and a deep blue outer edge that holds it all together. The bottom drops off into pale grey stone chip fringe that gives them just the right sway. The backing is iridescent white glitter leather, so even the side your ear knows about is beautiful. Approximately 3.5 inches long, oval shape, on gunmetal fish hook findings. Sold as a pair. Handmade by an Indigenous artist — each piece is unique and will never be made again. I held these in my hands for a long time. They caught every bit of light in my studio. Now they need yours.
