Beaded Stud Earrings — Smoky Dusk

These are what the sky looks like over Mt. Shasta about twenty minutes after the sun drops — that smoky grey-purple that makes you stop walking and just stand there like a fool. Each earring centers on a smooth grey-purple cat's eye cabochon, surrounded by a tight row of gold bugle beads, then a ring of clear and champagne crystal seed beads that catch every bit of light you give them, finished with a clean white-silver beaded edge. The back is soft leather with a starburst stitch pattern and clip-post findings so they sit right against your ear, clean and close. Approximately 1.25 inches tall, oval shape. Sold as a pair. Handmade by an Indigenous artist — Pit River Tribe, born and raised in Northern California — and each piece is completely unique. I will never make this exact pair again. I held these for a long time under the lamp, turning them, watching the light move across that cabochon. They're ready. Are you?
