Beaded Keychain — Yellow Jacket Afternoon

You know that moment in late afternoon when the sun hits just right and the yellowjackets are being bold? That's the energy of this keychain. Alternating stripes of matte yellow and glossy dark navy seed beads wrap around a firm tubular rope in tight, even rows — peyote stitch, bead by bead, by hand. The loop measures approximately 3.5 inches long and is finished with a sturdy silver-tone barrel end cap and a standard split-ring keyring that'll hold whatever you need it to hold. This is functional art. Every single bead was placed by me, a Pit River Tribe artist working from Northern California. It's one piece. I won't make this combination again — that's not how I work. So clip your keys to something that actually means something. I held this one in my hands for a while. It's yours now — if you grab it first.
