Sunburst Hoops — Obsidian Snow

These are the earrings that show up when the first snow hits Shasta and the sun's still out — that weird bright cold you get up here. I beaded a eight-point starburst around each hoop, black seed beads laid against warm white ones so the points look like they're catching light no matter which way you turn your head. Silver-lined beads pick up every bit of shine, and the whole thing sits on a hypo-allergenic lightweight silver-tone hoop with a hinged snap closure — comfortable enough to forget you're wearing them, loud enough that people won't forget you. Each hoop is about 2 inches point to point, sold as a pair, and beaded stitch by stitch by me, start to finish. Handmade by an Indigenous artist — each piece is unique, no repeats, not even close. I held these in my hands for a long time before I let them go. They're done now. They're yours — if you're fast enough.
